感謝rnbmelody提供的資訊,原來MIT OpenCourseWare有《世界是平的》作者Thomas L. Friedman在MIT的演講。

BTW,這本書還蠻好看的,才剛看完第一章就驚覺原來什麼都能外包..。美國很多公司都把電話客服外包到印度(我還以為印度只是代工寫程式而已..),更厲害的是在印度這種工作是人人搶著要,所以素質都很高,每個人都受過美國各地的口音訓練,每個印度客服都專業到讓你以為你是在跟美國人講話..。

    The most famous example is Dell. The problem is more than the accent, since there are all kinds of accents spoken in the states. It is also that outsourced customer service representatives may have insufficient latitude in resolving non-trivial questions.

    Some companies maintain a US-based customer service for the “VIP” customers, and other companies (e.g. eLoan) offers the choice of India-based service for faster turn-around time.
